PIANO DISCOVERY PROGRAM
ages 3 - 5
Are you considering piano lessons for your preschooler, but worried they might be too young? Music Steps Academy is the perfect place for them to get started. They will learn in a warm and nurturing environment and will be excited to come to lessons every week.
Our Piano Discovery program is an early childhood curriculum that is specifically crafted for curious preschoolers.
Fun and hands-on approach will help young learners foster the love of music and provide a strong foundation for future success beyond their musical journey.
Classes are 30 minutes long and are jam-packed with singing, dancing, playing instruments, coloring, stories, finger plays, and making music with friends.
Children will get familiar with the keyboard layout, learn basic music concepts & composer history, practice letter, number, pattern & color recognition.
PIANO EXPLORERS PROGRAM
ages 5 - 7
Our Piano Explorers program is designed for younger beginners ages 5-7 or our Piano Discovery graduates to keep them engaged and have fun while learning piano.
During their 40 min lessons each student will have some time at the piano making music and participate in off-bench activities and games to help them reinforce learned concepts.
We will work on establishing good piano posture, developing pitch, rhythm, healthy technique, and beginning note-reading skills.
After completing Piano Explorers program, students may transition into our small group program, Piano Express, to get prepare for more advanced studies.
PIANO EXPRESS PROGRAM
ages 7 and up
Our Piano Express program is geared toward beginners ages 7 and up or our Piano Explorers graduates.
A unique curriculum is supported by cutting-edge web software to help students learn the material faster as opposed to traditional methods.
During their 60 minute-long classes, students will work independently with headphones on and then do a group activity in the last 15-20 min of the class.
Multi-leveled class format allows students to progress at their own pace and be able to join at anytime during the semester.
Parents can drop off multiple children at once and have an entire hour to run some errands.
After students complete all 6 levels, they will be ready for advanced one-on-one lessons.
PIANO JOURNEY PROGRAM
ages 13 and up
Our “Piano Journey” program would be a great fit for older beginners, transfer students with previous experience, or our “Piano Express” graduates who are committed to piano and ready for more advanced studies.
During their 75 min lessons, each students will rotate through 3 stations: 25 min one-on-one instruction, 25 min of Theory Work, and 25 min of Piano Lab.
The program is geared toward exploring a larger variety of repertoire, in-depth studying of music theory, and focusing on perfecting piano technique and musicality.
Dedicated home practice on a well-maintained acoustic piano or full size (88 keys) digital piano with weighted keys is expected.
